Bonitation / Breed approval.'

To be able to get your Pražský Krysařík breed approved in the Czech Republic, it has to undergo a bonitation (breed approval). This is done after 12 months age. The dog is examined in accordance to the breed standard

The dog gets one of following judgements:

Approved: A dog that has been approved by the bonitation panel consisting of FCI approved judges, veterinarians and breed experts. The dog then has to get an excellent critism (výborný 1or velmi dobrý/very good 2) in a show. After this the dog can be used in breeding without any restrictions.

Not approved: A dog that has been not approved can not be used with other approved dogs. This is due to the fact that there were so many faults and defects in accordance with the breed standard, that you can not say that it is breed typical and in some cases it would be devastating for the pups to inherit these faults.

Approved with special demands: A dog with this approval may be used in breeding with animals that the Czech breed advisor of the Czech breeders club has chosen. Before breeding the dog must get excellent or very good at a dog show.
